The best looking roof lanterns
When we are replacing existing roofs or building new extensions, lantern roofs from Atlas are one of the best ways to draw as much natural lighting into a room. The full aluminium roof systems from Atlas have impressive and unrivaled benefits, and are considered to be better than other roof systems on the market.
Both the external and internal aesthetics will complement any home style, while the slim construction from robust aluminium profiles ensures that we can maximise the amount of light and space created. What’s more, with some of the slimmest sightlines around, you are ensured better skyward views.
Why choose Atlas?
An Atlas roof system is thinner, stronger, and lighter than the other roofs out there. Less is definitely more,as they say!
There are no awkward bars and supports to clutter the ridge, and no thick, chunky plastic profile sections in the way of your view. They have a strong 40mm aluminium rafter that creates a slim and elegant shape, whilst keeping your room energy-efficient. Other roof systems have much wider sightlines – see the graphic below – the ridge is up to 70% thinner and the rafters even reduced by 30% – more sky, and less roof!
Better views, all round
Viewed externally, the discreet cap and ridge designs are worlds apart from the usual look of roofs and lanterns sold by other companies.
With minimal sightlines, and the unobtrusive frames, even large glazed roofs will not look overpowering on your home or extension.
Atlas roofs are incredibly versatile, and we can design almost anything to suit your needs. There are even flat rooflights to match. Perhaps we could design a lean-to conservatory or glass veranda for your property. For larger, more luxurious developments and extensions, there are Skyrooms.
The Skyroom Orangery – combining luxurious style and unique modern aesthetics with superior aerial views.
Powder-coated Colours
When combined with other aluminium windows and doors, you can create the perfect new house extension, or revitalise an older property renovation. There are traditional and contemporary styles to suit all tastes.
Perhaps one of the main benefits of an Atlas roof is that with aluminium components, it can be powder-coated to perfectly match other elements. Smooth anthracite windows, married with smooth grey patio doors and a lantern roof.
As with all aluminium products, you may have dual colours. The exterior colour can be different if you need the inside match with the existing decoration. The hard wearing powder coatings are engineered to last.

The aluminium roof is powder coated with paint, and engineered to last. You can choose any colour to match with existing glazing products, like modern grey colours, and also have dual coloured roofs. The exterior colour can be easily changed if it does not need to match with the interior styling.
Energy-efficient Roofs

Heat loss is measured with U-values and high statistics mean that insulation performance is poor. A building with a low figure indicates good thermal insulation.
With a U-value of 1.5 W/m2k, the Atlas roof rafters are twice as efficient than competitor roofs. When double glazing is factored in, the overall U-value is as low as 1.2 W/m2k and, when you choose triple glazing, the overall U-value as low as 0.7 W/m2k!
These roofs are comfortable for year-round use, with lower risks of condensation, and lower heating or air conditioning costs.
